Things to bring on the trip.
1. Packed lunch in a plastic bag with your name on.
2. A sun hat.
3. A light raincoat.
4. A pair of wellies or sensible shoes on your feet.
5. A spare pair of shoes for the drive back to school-in a labelled plastic bag.
You do not need money, or toys. There are lots of things to see and do.
Capone and Quack Quack – do you know who they are?
On Friday, Alice kindly let us borrow two of her hens for the day. We thank her for her generosity which was much appreciated.
We had a great day looking closely at the chickens. Everyone was gentle and careful around them and learnt a lot about what chickens eat and how they move. Their feathers were very beautiful when we looked at them closely. Nora noticed that the hens ‘ want to drink water.’ Usman was watching the birds closely and exclaimed, ‘ That one got bigger!’ when Capone fluffed her feathers up. Ushayne checked that foxes couldn’t get in to the run. Capone was white and Quack Quack was brown.
We are learning a lot about farm animals in preparation for our farm visits on the 17th June (Acorn) and 24th June (Oak).
The Milkman visits.
Today we had a special visit from John who is a milkman. We asked lots of questions and were excited to see his milk float. John told us a lot of things which we will share with you soon. He was SOOOO friendly and kind. We hope he can come and see us again soon.
Now we know that cows give us milk, but we know how it gets to us too!
Drawings we worked so hard on . . . .
On Wednesday, we looked at pictures, videos and models of cows in preparation for our visit to Tatton farm. We then tried to draw a realistic picture of a cow. We managed to AMAZE Miss McPherson with how well we drew the animals. Take a look at us holding our work so proudly. Look out for our pictures around the classrooms and corridors.
On Thursday, John the milkman visited and we asked him lots of questions. We will tell you about what we learnt soon!
